ABOUT THE ROLE

 We are seeking temporary Launch Engineers (Process & Electrical) in Assembly who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all assembly-related activities during vehicle launches. The role ensures that new products and changes are successfully introduced into production, meeting quality, cost, and timing requirements, while supporting continuous improvement within the assembly process.  This position is based in Assembly - Productoin (Kariega)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate assembly launch activities for new models and changes
  • Ensure readiness of processes, equipment, and documentation before SOP
  • Support validation, trials, and production ramp-up
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve launch issues
  • Track milestones and ensure timelines are met
  • Drive process improvements for quality and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Support problem-solving and root cause analysis during launch
  • Provide technical support during ramp-up

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

National Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Industrial)

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience technical/ engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, layouts, production systems and Shop facilities.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  • Excellent insight into roles of all Production Shops, Product engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Planning and Manufacturing systems.
  • Be familiar with the entire vehicle manufacturing plant structure.
  • Knowledge of Quality tools e.g. SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Fishbone Diagram, as well as capability studies.
  • Knowledge of Audit processes i.e. ISO 9001, Konzern, Conformance of production (COP), FVA, DKA, Corrosion, BIW, VDA and OHSE.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
