ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Temp Project Engineer to plan, design, develop, implement, and maintain logistics systems, material handling facilities, and transport solutions.
The role supports Production, P&A, Localization, and Export projects by ensuring efficient material flow, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement of logistics operations. To facilitate all OHSE ,legal , Internal and External audits for the Logistics Division. This position is based in the Logistics Division (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Plan and implement logistics projects, production requests, and improvement initiatives
- Design and implement logistics facilities (racking, packaging, storage, trolleys, pallets, etc.)
- Develop production and warehouse layouts using CAD systems
- Coordinate project meetings and liaise with stakeholders across departments
- Develop and optimise packaging specifications to reduce cost and prevent damage
- Ensure compliance with safety, technical, and operational standards
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering / Logistics /Project or Operations Management
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in Logistics Planning or similar
- Minimum 2 years’ Project Management experience
- Experience with CAD systems, Power BI , Simulation Programs
- Experience working with external contractors on facility development/modifications
- Knowledge of VWSA processes and systems advantageous

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to compile reports and present proposals to management
- Strong planning and organisational capability
- Good communication (written and verbal)
- Computer literacy and CAD proficiency
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams
- Diplomacy and stakeholder engagement skills
