Brief Role Description
We are seeking a safety-driven and detail-oriented Remote Vehicle Guidance Operator to support live autonomous vehicle (AV) operations. In this role, you will monitor autonomous vehicles in real time, assess complex driving situations, and issue authorized remote vehicle guidance commands within defined authority levels and safety procedures. You serve as a human-in-the-loop layer, helping ensure AV operations remain safe, compliant, and reliable in real-world conditions. The operator provides structured decision support and authorized remote guidance to autonomous vehicles, while capturing high-quality operational feedback to support continuous system improvement. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in mission-critical environments, remain calm under pressure, and are motivated to contribute directly to the safe deployment of autonomous mobility technologies.
Possible Tasks within this Role
1. Real-Time Monitoring & Remote Vehicle Guidance
- Monitor live autonomous vehicle operations using remote systems and tools
- Assess vehicle state, environment, and traffic conditions in real time
- Provide remote vehicle guidance according to SOPs and authority levels
- Execute procedures in compliances with safety and regulatory requirements
- Make safety-first decisions during degraded autonomy or complex scenarios
- Identify abnormal system behavior and initiate appropriate responses
- Escalate incidents to Shift Leads or Engineering teams as required
- Dispatch In-field Support and/or Emergency Response as required
2. Incident Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately document interventions, incidents, and near-misses
- Support structured incident escalation and post-event reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement through operational feedback
3. Training & Performance Enhancement
- Complete required training and maintain operational readiness
- Apply feedback to improve procedural compliance and decision-making
- Adhere to performance standards and a safety-focused operating culture
Qualification requirements
Years of Relevant Experience
2 - 3 years experience in mission-critical, real-time operations, such as transportation, mobility services, logistics, control rooms, aviation, emergency response, or similar safety-critical environments.
