Responsibilities:
## Defining and Communicating Architecture Vision
- Own and evolve the architectural vision at ART level and for cross-cutting concerns, aligned with Business Owners and across brands.
- Steer architecture work at team level (software architects / tech leads), translating stakeholder requirements into technical concepts.
- Own the system's cloud-based infrastructure.
## Aligning Architecture with Business Priorities
- Drive cost-benefit assessments of architectural alternatives, including monetary evaluation and risk analysis.
- Validate decisions through POCs, determining costs and verification strategies.
- Ensure alignment with Group-wide technical platforms, coordinating networking and platform requirements.
## Evolving System Design with Teams (SAFe / PI Planning)
- Break down technical requirements into manageable units and lead technical reviews for major changes or architecture extensions.
- Determine capacity allocation for enablement work with product management as part of the PM / SA / RTE triad during PI Planning.
- Ensure best software development practices across Agile teams in the ART.
## Fostering Built-in Quality and NFRs
- Define and manage critical NFRs in coordination with business requirements, providing visibility into their architectural impact and alternative solutions.
- Design reliable monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue mitigation.
- In a Solution Train context, collaborate with the Solution Architect on release management and cross-ART technology alignment.
## Supporting DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Define architecture guidelines that enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, including its constraints and boundaries.
- Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipelines and deployment configurations.
- Identify and eliminate delivery blockers across Agile teams; act as Delivery Advocate, sharing knowledge and team agreements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in Software Engineering.
- 7+ years' experience, including at least 3 as a System/Platform Architect.
- Experience in SAFe environments; System Architect role within an ART preferred.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating workloads on AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and ideally Kotlin.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tooling and security requirements in cloud-native environments.
- Proven ability to define and maintain architecture documentation (e.g., arc42, TOGAF).
- Strong communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders, comfortable aligning with Business Owners, product management, and cross-brand teams.
- Fluent German; English and/or Spanish proficiency.
