Volkswagen Group Service is positioned in the market with a broad range of automotive services, and supports the core business of Volkswagen, other brands and organizations.

Side by side with MAN Truck & Bus, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, we are hiring for a dedicated team in our Hub. 🚚

MAN Truck & Bus is focusing on four key areas:

• Alternative drive systems;

• Digitalization;

• Automated driving;

• Road Security;

Thus transforming itself from a commercial vehicle manufacturer to a provider of intelligent and sustainable transport solutions.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Your Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, related field or comparable job expertise;

• At least 3 years of professional experience in backend development;

• Solid experience with Java and Spring Boot in building backend services and APIs;

• Familiarity with Kotlin is a strong plus.

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka (or similar, e.g., Kinesis, SQS, MQTT);

• Relevant knowledge of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL);

• Strong understanding of Clean Code, Clean Architecture principles, and software design patterns, with a focus on quality, maintainability, and usability;

• Practical knowledge of Docker and containerized application development;

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI;

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, ideally Datadog (or equivalent such as Prometheus, New Relic);

• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS, including concepts such as Infrastructure-as-Code, managed services (PaaS), monitoring, alerting, and scalability;

• Agile mindset with hands-on experience in Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA;

• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.

Qualification requirements

Responsibilities:

• Create products, prototypes, and MVPs for near-vehicle services;

• Create, test, deploy, and run backend solutions and internal tools using modern cloud infrastructure;

• Develop functionalities for our trucks and maintain our cloud infrastructure, being responsible for integral parts of our technical roadmap;

• Take care of cloud-native microservices using containers, serverless functions, RESTful APIs, and event streaming;

• Be able to take end-to-end responsibility for the products you build, from development to production, including monitoring after deployment;

• Have a critical thinking and problem-solving mindset while approaching assigned tasks;

• Being able to express your opinion to the team and other teams on all questions around backend and tool development and working together on continuously improving the product, services, or processes.
