Who are we?
At the Innovation & Engineering Hub, we develop bold, market-ready solutions that support Volkswagen Group and its leading brands. Together with TRATON Group’s Global R&D — home to brands like Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus — we’re building the future of intelligent and sustainable transport. Global R&D focuses on:
- Alternative Drive Systems
- Digitalization
- Automated Driving
- Road Safety
We’re not just manufacturing vehicles — we’re engineering the future of mobility.
What do we do on our team?
Autonomous vehicles and their surrounding ecosystem are important areas in the strategy of MAN and our partners. Together with digitalization and electrification, they form the building blocks of the future product lineup.
To control, monitor and assist the self-driving vehicles on the road, a cloud system is needed which connects and collects many different data sources. To operate fleets of autonomous commercial vehicles from a central place, the right data needs to be process and available at the right time at the right place. This helps in establishing the use case for our customers to easily and economically use autonomous vehicles (AV's). We are searching people to participate in the creation of these key components to help build the autonomous future.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Working in the context of autonomous vehicles you will create and run data engineering pipelines using modern cloud infrastructure.
- You will analyze, aggregate and visualize data for usage in our future trucks, using agile methodologies and supporting integral parts of our technical roadmap decisions.
- You will create dashboards, reports and data storage, supporting and interacting with our self driving systems to track and improve KPIs.
- You analyze, extract and aggregate data generated by a fleet of autonomous vehicles and develop methods from ML and AI to help improve the assessment and assistance of situations.
- You take care of cloud native services to improve your daily work.
- You will be able to take end to end responsibility for the systems you build, working closely with other departments to explain and present your results.
- You advise your team and other teams on all questions around data engineering and ML/AI in the autonomous vehicle area and work together on continuously improving your pipelines, tooling and processes.
- You take initiative to solve problems and overcome roadblocks, being the interface between data engineering, software development and the stakeholder. You are a result-oriented individual.
- You are happy to learn new technologies and to find innovative and pragmatic remedies.
What requirements are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in related field or comparable job expertise.
- At least 5 years experience in the field of data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with the analysis of real-world telematic data.
- Experience in applying and understanding data engineering patterns and ML algorithms.
