Brief Role Description

The Paralegal Lead will work closely with the Company legal team and will also interface independently with various business stakeholders inside and outside of the legal department and outside of the company, working on the Company’s significant legal matters.  The Paralegal Lead will assume a leadership role in developing practices and systems to more effectively and efficiently manage non-litigation and/or litigation matters. The successful candidate will be someone who’s eager to learn and develop good relationships with their business colleagues, and who is able to manage various projects autonomously.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Main responsibility – assign 80% of time spent

  • Assists in managing complex matters, working directly with counsel and/or business interests, and ensuring timeliness and responsiveness on filings, requests, compliance with any and all applicable laws and regulations, and consistency with internal processes
  • Review, investigate and draft responses to third party legal demands and complaints
  • Track and trend consumer regulatory complaints to various Agency's (BBB, Attorney General, etc) to include the development of repeatable and scalable templates; work with other departments and respond accordingly
  • Design, develop, refine, and simplify legal processes
  • Draft, proofread, and update presentations, reports, and templates
  • Maintain contract management function, including, but not limited to (i) notifying Legal Department and business units concerning contract deadlines, expirations, and other relevant events; (ii) routing and overseeing contracts for signatures; (iii) organizing and categorizing electronic files, among other things
  • Draft correspondence and other legal filings
  • Prepare and review non-disclosure agreements
  • Track legal department deadlines
  • Assist with outside counsel budgeting, invoice review oversee the setup of new outside counsel law firms
  • Assist attorneys with legal research and analysis
  • Coordinate with the attorneys from the Electrify America Legal Department and business managers to meet shared objectives
  • Assist with a variety of other requests to support the team and department, as may arise from time-to-time

 

Additional responsibilities – 20% of time spent

  • Assist with corporate governance activities, including filing and maintaining business licenses and jurisdictional registrations, managing corporate records, drafting resolutions

 

Qualification requirements

Years of Experience

  • 7-10+ years of paralegal and legal experience required

  • Knowledge of EV charging business operations, preferred
  • Knowledge of EV charging legal issues, preferred

Specialized Skills – Required

  • Experience drafting and reviewing correspondence, litigation and regulatory consumer filings. 
  • Understanding of and experience with corporate governance including, but not limited to, managing entity qualifications, drafting company resolutions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing processes policies, practices, systems and/or controls to more effectively and efficiently manage legal matters
  • Extensive experience with document management and matter management technical platforms
  • Excellent ability to track, monitor, and coordinate litigation and/or non-litigation matters
  • Extensive usage of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication skills

Specialized Skills – Desired

  • Notary Public
  • Understanding and knowledge of marketing and advertising, data privacy, contract, or administrative or regulatory law.
  • Extensive in-house or outside law firm paralegal experience.
  • Significant familiarity with the EV charging marketplace.

In the state of California, the salary range is $80,400– $146,400. 

In the state of Colorado, the salary range is $80,400 – $123,900. 

In the state of Washington, the salary range is $80,400 – $128,400. 

In New York City, the salary range is $104,600 – $146,400. 

In Westchester County, the salary range is $91,700 – $146,400. 

In the state of Rhode Island, the salary range is $80,400 – $123,900.
