Brief Role Description

The Financial Analyst role serves as a key financial partner to Operations, driving data-driven decision-making through reporting, analysis, and cost optimization. The analyst will translate complex data into actionable insights, enabling leadership to manage performance, mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency.

 

Supporting this objective, this position will collaborate with Finance and Business Unit teams to gather requirements, partner with the backend & data teams for data reconciliation & validation and create & automate real time, month-end, and year-end financial reporting and dashboards. 

The role is responsible for cost controlling for various business areas across Operations.  The role will provide the business with financial consultation and serving as a strategic collaborator.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Reporting and Data Development (75%):

  • Utilize a structured, problem-solving approach alongside data driven decisions to provide business owners with financial reporting and strategic collaboration. Advise leadership on resource efficiency, trends, and risks.
  • Assist in business case development, ensuring results are measured.
  • Generate and publish required charts, reports, and data analysis supporting Operations processes, KPIs, and deliverables. This includes regularly cadenced reporting against operational results and forecasts for all major cost activities
  • Escalate all major risks or opportunities to respective management members in a proactive manner
  • Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality control of reports for management
  • Handle Ad Hoc data requests from stakeholders within and outside of Operations. Driving critical business decisions and communications with internal teams as well as external vendors, customers, and clients.
  • Drive improvements in warranty (chargeback) data accuracy and recovery rates.

 

Collaboration (25%):

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the Electrify America team to create synergies and align on reporting and tracking needs
  • Support the creation of presentations and reports for management

Qualification requirements

Years of Relevant Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in the areas of controlling, business management and finance

 

Education (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, or equivalent

  • Strong analytical skills - ability to collect, organize, and analyze data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expert in developing and maintaining reports, focusing on the collection & joining together of data from various systems, tools, and platforms
  • Experience with visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, etc.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, dynamic arrays, and modeling
  • Strong business sense – understand abstract stakeholder needs as well as key metrics in finance
  • Experience managing and improving cross-functional processes
  • Presentation skills – ability to turn data into actionable information
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Principles, including P&L Management, forecasting, budgeting, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to control costs and perform financial analysis, focusing on cost drivers and deviation analysis
  • Experience in the use of financial & accounting systems – SAP

 

Specialized Skills (Desired):

  • Previous experience in the EV charging industry
  • Experience in accounting & budgeting 

 

Work Flexibility:

  • 10% travel

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.  

In the state of California, the salary range is $60,800 – $121,700. 

In the state of Colorado, the salary range is $60,800 – $93,600. 

In the state of Washington, the salary range is $60,800 - $102,100. 

In New York City, the salary range is $86,900 – $121,700.

In Westchester County, the salary range is $72,900 – $121,700.

In the state of Rhode Island, the salary range is $60,800 – 93,600.
