Brief Role Description

The contract Controller is responsible for assigned Controlling and Finance activities for Electrify America & Canada, including supporting the Accounting and Controlling functions.  This position is responsible for ensuring that all assigned Electrify America & Canada and related costs are properly controlled, accounted for and analyzed, and that corporate policies and procedures are followed. 

 

This position supports the controlling team with key month-end financial accounting and finance activities to ensure a timely and accurate financial close.   Additionally, the position will prepare monthly analysis of revenue, cost and customer segmentation for the core charging business.  The role will also support charging operations and maintenance areas with financial tracking and outlooks.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Overhead Cost Controlling 50%

  • Perform monthly financial accounting responsibilities for various assigned operational and overhead departments
  • Record site specific cost accounting for charger level operating costs
  • Review purchase requisitions and associated accounting to ensure budget and reporting compliance
  • Perform monthly analysis of cost center usage to ensure appropriate departmental usage

 

Financial Reporting 30%

  • MTD, QTD, YTD consolidated contribution margin vs. budget, FC, PY, including cost accounting for volume and price variances
  • Preparation of segmentation reporting for HPC revenue attributes (OEM, Public, etc.)
  • Produce trend reports for revenue, COS and relevant overhead categories
  • Track monthly Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) market prices, energy delivered and outlook
  • Update monthly dashboards for credit card processing activity (chargebacks)
  • Other reporting requirements to support departmental metrics

 

Other Related Duties 20%

Ad hoc reporting, participation in projects, and supporting as backup for Controllers and Controlling managers

Qualification requirements

Years of Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience

 

Education – Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting Degree

 

Education – Desired

  • Master Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • Accounting Designation (CPA, CMA)

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking – Ability to gather and analyze qualitative, quantitative feedback and data to assess campaign KPIs and product success in real-time
  • Communication skills – Experience in communicating with executive level audiences. Ability to develop and effectively communicate data-driven presentations at multiple levels within the organization

  • Audit Response Experience and internal controls familiarity
  • Management Reporting, with ability to distill detailed data to insightful information, trends and recommendations
  • Collaboration skills, displays an ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders to drive business processes

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.  

The salary range is $115,000 - $150,000.
