Brief Role Description

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will help assume responsibility for the most visible, customer valued and enduring contributions from Electrify America’s charging investment over ten years and a budget of approximately $200M per year.

The candidate will oversee the local implementation of a number of interconnected electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects in both metro areas and along national highway routes.  The candidate will be a qualified and experienced project manager that will lead and oversee a number of vendors and contractors in their assigned region to secure property, prepare, construct and commission EV charging sites at a range of commercial, retail, municipal and mixed-use property.  Responsibilities will include local vendor and contractor management, coordination with relevant project stakeholders including property owners, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), utilities and other resources to ensure successful project completion and adherence to milestones.

This candidate will utilize a project management software platform to accurately forecast and project schedules, monitor equipment inventory and delivery, manage daily project tasks, collect and evaluate documentation and close-out reports, and control project costs.  They will work closely with Electrify America’s management team to coordinate local relationships with all project vendors, land owners, utilities, AHJs and other stakeholders. The candidate will act as a local resource for a number of Electrify America initiatives and will represent the company at local events, workshops and forums.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Role Responsibilities:

1. Leads all planning, coordination and project management of Electrify America EV infrastructure deployment efforts in assigned geographic area including metro-area and national highway network-based programs (~20%).

2. Provides local-level oversight and management of vendors, services providers and contractors across assigned area, ensuring adherence to program milestones, budgets, construction guidelines and quality/safety standards (~15%)

3. Travels frequently to project locations to support site identification and acquisition activities, coordinate design and installation plans with property ownership and management, oversee vendor progress, meet and update local stakeholder groups including utilities and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and document evidence of project progress and quality control (10%)

4. Assesses and tracks program performance via managing and updating tools, software and processes to ensure effective project management at all stages of program design, implementation and evaluation (~5%)

5. Develops and prepares monthly work schedules for each project and associated partners, vendors and stakeholders. Provides regular and transparent updates to Metro and Highway Network program managers with status reports and progress of individual projects to anticipate potential bottlenecks or delays. (~5%)

6. Aligns closely with Partnership Development and Real Estate teams to assist in coordination of city and state-level stakeholders such as workplaces, property owners, mobility programs, utilities, planning departments, and local policy-makers (~5%)

7. Maintains accurate forecasts of all equipment delivery needs including individual project specifications to assist with equipment inventory and supply controls (~5%)

8. Assumes responsibility for all project close-out documentation from vendors and suppliers, review and track all QAQC requirements prior to vendor payment approval. Works closely with EA controllers to ensure alignment with auditing and accounting policies. Benchmarks project costs across vendors and regions to identify cost efficiency opportunities (~5%)

9. Represents Electrify America at local events, conferences and other stakeholder forums under guidance of Partnership Development team.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience - required
  • Project Management Professional certifications - required
  • Certification of competency in Primavera, Microsoft Project, or similar software - desired

In the state of California, the salary range is $101,800 – $162,850.
