About the Team:

 

To drive innovation and unlock the full potential of Software-Defined Vehicles, a User Experience Platform is essential for all TRATON brands. This platform serves as the backbone, weaving together multiple layers—from cloud based components to frontend components.

The heart of this initiative lies in simplifying complexity. By offering seamless, standardized APIs and a suite of versatile services, features, and tools, the platform empowers each brand to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional value to their customers and accelerating the launch of market-driven solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Working in the context of automotive IoT you will create, test, deploy and run (DevOps) customer-facing solutions and internal services running on modern cloud infrastructure;
  • You will develop and maintain functionality for our trucks using agile methodologies, being responsible for integral parts of our technical roadmap;
  • You will create products, prototypes and MVPs for near-vehicle services;
  • Be able to take end to end responsibility for the products you build, including usage of hardware test setups, consisting of parts of a real truck to validate combability with all embedded systems;
  • Create and maintain applications for automotive embedded Linux, using technologies like C++, Systemd, MQTT and IPC;
  • Be responsible to write small test programs/scripts to ensure correct behaviour in embedded Linux devices, mocking parts of the environment;
  • Writing testing tools in python and C++ to conduct manual/automatic software tests or hardware in the loop tests;
  • Advise your team and other teams on all questions around embedded development in an automotive IoT environment to continuously improve the service, tooling and processes;
  • Work closely with electrical engineers to resolve problems and specify next generation ECUs.

Your Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or comparable job expertise;
  • Relevant experience in the conception and implementation of complex software solutions in an international context;
  • Has an Agile and DevSecOps mindset;
  • Solid experience with Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles as well as common software design patterns. Emphasis on quality engineering and automated testing;
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git;
  • Experience with SAFe framework is a plus;
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus;
  • Solid experience with embedded development in C++ with focus on embedded Linux and communication (MQTT, HTTP, IPC, Protobuf);
  • Willingness to debug E2E problems regardless of used technologies and competencies by facilitating the right people and tools;
  • Experience in using and integrating cloud services (preference for AWS), knowing cloud paradigms like Infrastructure- as-Code, PaaS, alerting and monitoring;
  • Knowledge of Python for rapid prototyping and tooling as well as experience with UNIX system configuration, Systemd, Networking and user and rights management are an advantage;
  • Ideally an interest in other languages like Java/Kotlin/Javascript/Typescript and how to use them for rapid prototyping of E2E products;
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken;
  • High level of self-organization and sense of ownership;
  • Proactive in communicating and taking action;
  • Curious, likes to investigate and understand how things work;
  • Motivated by a strong passion to learn and continuously improve, solving problems in an innovative and pragmatic way;
  • Communicate and collaborate with empathy and clarity - you care about supporting those around you.
