About the Team:
Our Smart Factory team is at the forefront of this transformation. We are building the digital backbone of tomorrow’s production systems—integrating IoT, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and AI to enable predictive maintenance, real-time quality control, and agile manufacturing.
The mission is to simplify complexity and create a connected ecosystem where machines, systems, and people work seamlessly together. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and scalable architectures, we empower production teams to make faster, smarter, and more sustainable decisions.
We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive professionals to join us in this journey—starting with key proof-of-concept initiatives that will evolve into fully operational solutions across Volkswagen’s global production sites.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support Data Understanding & Modeling: Help clients make sense of their data landscape, advising on modeling approaches and use cases.
- Simplify Data Complexity: Translate complex data concepts into practical, business-friendly insights.
- Design & Optimize Data Workflows: Build and maintain scalable KNIME workflows (or similar ETL pipelines) to integrate, clean, and transform data.
- Enable Data Integration: Support the connection of various systems and data sources to enable unified analysis.
- Advise on Data Best Practices: Recommend approaches for data quality, governance, and usage aligned with business needs.
- Collaborate Cross-Team: Work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and adoption.
- Stay Ahead: Keep up with developments in data engineering, analytics, and automation platforms like KNIME or similar tools.
Your Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong data literacy and ability to navigate both business and technical topics
- Hands-on experience with KNIME or similar ETL tools
- Solid understanding of data integration and modeling
- Proactive and client-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Analytical thinking and ability to design scalable, pragmatic solutions
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts clearly
- Fluency in English (German is a plus)
