Responsibilities:
Defining and Communicating Architecture Vision
- Own and develop an architectural vision at the ART level and for cross-sectional topics, coordinating with Business Owners and across brands.
- Manage architecture work at team level (software architects / tech leads), analyzing stakeholder requirements and creating technical concepts.
- Maintain continuous exchange with individual tech leads from the Scrum teams, approving solutions and addressing ART-wide technical challenges.
- Ownership of the system's cloud-based infrastructure
Aligning Architecture with Business Priorities
- Contribute to cost-benefit assessments of alternative solutions, including monetary evaluation and risk analysis from a technical point of view.
- Validate architectural decisions through POCs, determining costs and verification strategies.
- Ensure alignment with other technical platforms used within the Group, coordinating changes to networking platforms and platform requirements.
Evolving System Design with Teams (SAFe / PI Planning)
- Divide technical requirements into manageable units and lead technical reviews during major changes or significant architecture extensions.
- Work with product management to determine capacity allocation for enablement work, participating in PI Planning as part of the PM / SA / RTE triad and define priorities.
- Collaborate Collaborate with the Agile teams in the ART structure to ensure best software development practices are applied
- Mentor Team Leads in technical and Fostering Built-in Quality and NFRs
- Actively describe and manage critical non-functional requirements (NFRs) in terms of technical quality, participating in their definition in coordination with business requirements and releases.
- Provide an overview of NFRs and their impact on the architecture, including references to security requirements and technical quality, offering alternative solutions where needed.
- Design and build reliable monitoring and alerting systems to create enable proactive mitigation.
- In the context of a Solution Train, collaborate with the Solution Architect to manage releases and align technology approaches across ARTs.
Supporting DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline (CDP) through appropriate architecture guidelines, defining these guidelines and describing the limitations of the solution.
- Pipeline maintenance, creation, and deployment configuration maintenance and creation.
- Anticipate, identify, and eliminate blockers in Agile team; act as a Delivery Advocate and Enabler, sharing knowledge and team agreements.
Requirements:
- BA Degree in Computer Sciences (or FP) and/or professional experience in Software Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a System/Platform Architect role.
- Proven experience working in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments, ideally as System Architect within an ART.
- Strong understanding of PI Planning, ART ceremonies, and cross-team architecture coordination.
- Good management skills, team spirit, and ability to communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands‑on experience creating and maintaining architecture documentation using industry‑standard frameworks like arc42 or TOGAF.
- Experience with Java and Spring ecosystem, Spring Boot; Kotlin is a plus, as are other languages.
- Experience with cloud service providers like AWS, GCP or Azure.
- SAFe certification.
- Jira and Confluence.
- Strong German speaker.
- Fluent English and/or Spanish speaker.
