Location: US Home-based
Electrify America is evolving its communications capabilities into a central, integrated team that holistically manages brand reputation and strategic communications. The Manager, Communications & Reputation Management will play a pivotal role in this transformation, leading a team of professionals responsible for all internal and external communications and social media.
This role will lead the team that shape, protect, and elevate the brand’s reputation across North America, overseeing media relations, product and technology communications, executive visibility, internal communications, and issues/crisis management. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling and the agility to operate across channels and audiences.
This person must bring a strong existing network of media contacts across national, trade, and local outlets relevant to the automotive, technology, and charging industry. A seasoned Communications leader who thrives in a hands-on environment with the skill to lead a nimble team will be most successful for this position.
Possible Tasks within this Role
Strategic Communications & Reputation Management (40%)
- Builds and execute integrated communications strategies that support Electrify America’s business goals and brand reputation.
- Lead relationships with top tier media and EV Jounalist to tell the Electrify America story
- Own external narrative development and evolution across automotive, consumer, business, and trade media.
- Lead the strategy, execution, and day-to-day management of Electrify America’s social media presence across all platforms, driving engagement and reinforcing brand reputation
- Build and cultivate relationships with influencers and content creators in the EV, tech, and sustainability spaces
- Manage all proactive and reactive communications, including crisis response and risk mitigation.
- Serve as a company spokesperson and prepare executives for media engagements.
- Oversee and proactively raise new industry trends and emerging risks to inform strategy and messaging.
Media Relations & Product Communications (40%)
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with top-tier media, analysts, and influencers.
- Lead product and technology communications, including launches, lifecycle storytelling, and media education.
- Plays a role in managing sensitive customer communications across social media platforms; collaborates with Call Center on issue management
- Create press materials: releases, talking points, FAQs, speeches, and presentations.
- Collaborate and advise Electrify Canada and Electrify Commercial teams to ensure aligned messaging.
Internal Communications & Thought Leadership (15%)
- Develop, lead, and execute internal communications strategies that foster transparency, alignment, and engagement across the organization.
- Create and manage content for executive communications, company-wide updates, and internal campaigns.
- Partner with leadership to shape and amplify thought leadership platforms, including speaking engagements, authored content, and media opportunities.
- Align internal messaging with external narratives to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Support cross-functional collaboration between Brand Strategy and Glow Studio to unify storytelling and voice.
Operations & Reporting (5%)
- Monitor media and social chatter to identify emerging trends, sentiment shifts, and reputational risks; translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Track and report on communications and department performance metrics and KPIs.
- Support planning and execution of cross-functional initiatives and events.
- Ensure timely and effective information flow across internal teams.
Qualification requirements
Years of Relevant Experience:
- 10+ years in senior communications, public relations, or corporate affairs.
- Experience in automotive, tech, or energy sectors preferred.
- Proven track record in media relations, internal communications, and executive visibility.
Education - Required:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations or communications preferred, but not required
Education - Desired:
- Masters in a related field

- Experience developing and implementing high impact strategic communication strategies and brand PR campaigns
- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- Strategic thinker with strong executional skills
- Media trained and capable of training others
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

Work Flexibility:
